This is a simple, yet productive pattern to tie and can be fished throughout most of the season

Step 1

Put bead on the hook and tie on thread behind the bead

Step 2

Build a tapered underbody from the bead to about halfway down the hook shank.

Step 3

Tie in the floss just behind the bead and wrap onto hook toward the hook bend stopping almost halfway down the bend. Clip off the excess floss

Step 4

Tie in the ostrich herl, tip first, and advance the tread back to the bead

Step 5

Wrap the floss up to the bead and cinch down with thread. Clip off excess

Step 6

Wrap the ostrich herl toward the bead leaving space between each wrap. Tie down at bead and clip off excess. Whip finish and apply cement.
