Vermont Guided Fishing Excursions

Northern Vermont offers hundreds of miles of unpressured trout streams and some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of New England!
-----------------------------------------------

Our guide trips are all inclusive.  You need only provide a current Vermont Fishing License (which your guide can arrange for) and personal items. Many guests bring all of their own equipment, but if you need rods and reels or wading gear, we will provide it for you. All flies are provided by your guide, and their boxes are filled with all the right flies to get the job done. Plenty of bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages are provided and we make every possible attempt to accommodate any special requests.

The Troutfitters offer a multitude of guided fishing excursions for all skill levels and age groups. Guided services include.....

Walk n' Wade River/Stream Tours

Catch the morning trout-bite and be back at the condo by lunch...search for hungry river smallmouth with poppers in the evening...escape the summer heat with small stream brook trout...

Whatever works!...just leave the phone at home and let's go fishing!

We do our best to work with your schedule and the schedule that the fish prefer most :)
Our most common trips are 4-5 hour "Half-Days" but when you book us, we're yours for the day.  Whether it's 4 hours, 6 hours or 8, it's up to you and our guides will give you 100% until the last second!

River Drift Boat Trips

We have a 13.5' Star inflatable drift boat that is undoubtedly the best rig for floating our larger rivers.  It's comfortable, it's quiet and we can float areas that many fixed-hull drift boats cannot.
We offer these trips primarily May-June and after September and they accommodate no more than 2 anglers.

Here are some things to consider regarding your Vermont fishing excursion with Green Mountain Troutfitters :
  • Our guides are ethical anglers that maintain a strict policy of Catch & Release Only!
  • We do not trout fish when water temps exceed 69 degrees
  • All of our excursions are private unless otherwise advertised
  • Our guide service is fully insured and all of our guides hold current First Aid / CPR Certifications
  • Our goal is to get you on the water at a time of day that will maximize our chances for success...early mornings are generally a given
  • We try to maintain a ratio of no more than 4 guests per guide
  • Listen...Listen...Listen and trust your guide
  • Tipping is not mandatory, but it is certainly appreciated by your guide
  • Modern breathable chest waders are very comfortable, but it's important to wear comfortable clothing underneath.  Lightweight pants are the best; jeans are the worst!
  • We'd prefer if you didn't ask to bring your dog along
  • If you have any special conditions, require special attention or have some sort of lifelong fear of fishing you're trying to get over on this excursion, please tell us in advance!
  • Fishing for us is rediculously fun and rewarding, and we want it to be that way for you too!

Here are some things we recommend that you bring on your outing...
  • Polarized Sunglasses
  • Sun Block
  • Bug Spray
  • Baseball or other Brimmed Cap
  • Any medications that you require
  • Digital Camera
  • Food or Snack
  • Anything else that would make you more comforta
