Lamoille USGS Gauge in Johnson,VT - 4/23/13

A warm front that will be moving in on the heels of todays brisk weather will be perfectly timed with fishable river conditions on a majority of our local rivers and streams.  This is obviously a warm-welcome(pun intended) for anglers that have been chomping at the bit to get out and wet a line.  Most of the action recently has been coming from the lake tribs where different species like steelhead and smallmouth bass are making their spring visit to their natal waters to spawn.  Many of these streams are very small and these fish are, after all on their spawning mission, so tread lightly and bring your best ettiquette to the river.  As you can see from the USGS image above, the Lamoille has dropped below 1000cfs and is really clearing up nicely.
