2012 VT Trout Season Underway!

My 2nd trout of the 2012 VT season was a bruiser!
The recent warm run of weather we've had combined with above average early season water temps has made for some epic April fishing conditions!  I was on the Lamoille the other night and had swarms of stoneflies, caddis and even some mayflies all over.  We've even seen 1 or 2 sporadic rising fish on the Lamoille already!  Water flows are pretty low, so we could use some rain to keep things in check.  It looks like later this week we'll possibly see a good shot at some rain showers(maybe even a lot of rain!), but we'll have to wait and see.  Some stockings have already taken place, so check out the F&W Stocking Report for an updated list of what stockings have been completed.
Just 1 week from today, we'll be kicking off the first edition of Feathers n' Friends with Vermont Fly Guy, Ken Capsey and his killer pike patterns!  Come on out and support the local fly tying talent!
